Rosbank Teambreaking
Game for students
In brief
It is a massive quest for Potanin fellowship holders. The participants gathered into teams with people they didn't know and spent four days fulfilling various tasks in order to win a trip to Paris.

Background
Potanin Foundation School is an event held for 5 days in Moscow Region. 300 winners of scholarship from all over Russia join into teams and come to take part in the event.

Rosbank has been the partner of Potanin School for 3 years. This year it decided to organize a special event for the students.
Task
To develop the mechanism and organize the game that would attract the attention of Potanin's students and promote team work as the main Rosbank value. The game had to be complicated enough so that the winners would feel that they deserved the main prize, i.e. the trip to Paris with a visit to Societe Generale head office.
Solution
So we were to design a game. But not just a quiz or lotto, we needed a massive competition. We asked ourselves a question: "What can we do to make the players really interested in the game?" Here's what we decided:

  • To split the existing teams and form new ones so that the players got to know new people during the game,
  • To make solving tasks impossible without gathering together (give each player only a part of the task),
  • To conduct the game for five days in order to achieve full immersion,
  • To send tasks on the phones in order to accelerate the game and make use of modern technologies,
  • To send tasks at any time during the day in order to build up tension like in a thriller.
Thus, we combined the mentioned conditions and came up with the game -
Rosbank Teambreaking.

How did the name Teambreaking appear?
In business world a team of professionals usually gathers together in order to tackle certain issue within a short time. Therefore they simply have no time for team buildings. The team members share a common objective, and they get to know one another while working on achieving the target.

Teambreaking is a game that breaks the teams in order to test their members' ability to quickly adapt to new conditions and join efforts with strangers in order to achieve the common goal.

Mechanism
The game develops in the following way: every member registered and installs Rosbank Teambreaking application on their mobile devices (the app is designed for iOS and Android). Installing the application is obligatory because otherwise the players won't be able to receive tasks and send in their replies. Besides the participants can see teams members' profiles, competition ratings, and important news via the app.

During the School week the participants receive tasks via the app and in order to solve them they have to drop everything and go meet their new team members (every task is split into three parts and players have to meet in order to fulfill it). Every team gets certain points for tackling a task. The app shows a team's position in the leaderboard. The winner gets the main prize.
